Where to this week???

The title of this piece has very much been the theme for the Autumn term as the departure lounges of Heathrow, Gatwick and Eurostar have almost become a second home. Tours of Germany, the Baltic (with Lydia) and Poland have resulted in a very busy four months promoting Kent to students around Europe.

Brexit has been an area of concern this term for prospective EU students. This has been mainly from an economic standpoint (the availability of tuition fee loans from the UK government) rather than cultural/social issues as our reputation as the UK’s European university has shone through. Early October provided some relief as these loans were confirmed to be available, and will be maintained throughout the duration of a EU applicant’s course for those starting university in September 2017.

Sandwiched between these EU recruitment trips, I’ve also been to UG and PG events for Home UK students throughout the country. These have been aimed at applicants finalising their choices before the 15 January 2017 UCAS deadline, and also those looking at September 2018 and 2019 entry.

Looking forward to a busy and productive 2017!!!
