We don\u2019t want a lack of funds to be the reason you struggle to engage with your studies. If you are facing financial difficulties, please take a look at the funds below as well as other support available to you.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Many of our financial hardship funds open for applications on Monday 3 November 2025 including:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/access-to-learning-fund\">Access to Learning Fund<\/a> (ALF), open to UK \u201cHome\u201d fee paying students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/international-hardship-fund\">International Hardship Fund<\/a> (IHF), open to full time non-UK students who are eligible to pay tuition fees at the \u201coverseas\u201d rate.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/european-financial-support\">European Financial Support<\/a> (EFS), open to full-time non-UK students who are eligible to pay tuition fees at the \u201cEU\u201d rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>There are also some funds which are already available to apply for:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/emergency-short-term-loan\">Emergency Short Term Loan<\/a> (ESTL) for \u201cHome\u201d UK students who are yet to receive their first instalment of their Student Finance England funding. Please note, this is a loan and so needs to be paid back.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/kent-emergency-student-loan\">Kent Emergency Student Loan<\/a> (KESL) is open to all students who find themselves in temporary financial difficulty and need help with immediate essential living costs (not accommodation costs). Please note, this is a loan and so needs to be paid back.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/support\/emergency-funding\/emergency-hardship-fund\">Emergency Hardship Fund<\/a> (EHF) for students facing financial hardship due to exceptional or unforeseen circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>As well as financial support, there are many other ways we aim to support you:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ksu.co.uk\/campus-pantry\">Campus Pantry<\/a> is run by Kent Students\u2019 Union (KSU) and is a non-judgemental and confidential scheme that provides short-term support to students who find themselves in need of supplemental food.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ksu.co.uk\/advice\/finance\">KSU Advice Service<\/a> offers support around your finances and budgeting, checking you are receiving the correct student funding from Student Finance England, checking your eligibility for benefits and much more.<\/li>\n<li>Our Careers and Employability Service offer a lot of support to <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/careers\/career-planning\/work-experience\/part-time-work-whilst-you-study-where-to-start\">help you get a part-time job<\/a>, including guidance and advice on writing a CV, cover letter and application, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/careers\/career-planning\/work-experience\/jobshop\">Jobshop<\/a> which advertises part-time, seasonal and temporary jobs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See our <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/cost-of-living-support\">Cost of Living Support webpage<\/a> for more support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re here for you with our wide range of financial support options.
