{"id":833,"date":"2025-10-21T10:59:01","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/?p=833"},"modified":"2025-10-21T10:59:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:59:01","slug":"your-uni-your-say-making-coursework-submissions-fairer-and-clearer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/2025\/10\/21\/your-uni-your-say-making-coursework-submissions-fairer-and-clearer\/","title":{"rendered":"Your Uni Your Say: Making coursework submissions fairer and clearer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve listened to your feedback about coursework deadlines and the extenuating circumstances process, and we\u2019ve made some big changes to make things simpler, fairer and more supportive.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a summary of what\u2019s changed, and you can find <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/studies\/submitting-your-work\">full guidance for submitting work<\/a> on My Kent:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcc5<\/strong><strong> All coursework deadlines now have a standard submission time of 12:00 (midday)<\/strong>. This means staff are available to help if you run into any issues when submitting.<\/p>\n<p>\u23f1<strong>\ufe0f<\/strong><strong>You now have a 48-hour grace period after the deadline (no approval needed and separate from extension requests).<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit within <strong>24 hours<\/strong> of the deadline and your work will <strong>receive a maximum mark of 60%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Submit between <strong>24\u201348 hours<\/strong> and your work will be <strong>capped at the module pass mark<\/strong> (undergraduate 40% and postgraduate 50%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Either way, your work will still be marked and you\u2019ll get feedback. If you don\u2019t submit within the grace period, <strong>you can still get feedback on your work up to 7 calendar days after the original deadline<\/strong>.
