Kent Students\u2019 Union and Kent Sport are proud to launch the Racially Ethnic Minority (REM) Sport Inclusion Ambassador role following the success of their #TellYourStory campaign. This paid student position, funded by British Universities & Colleges\u00a0Sport (BUCS), aims to address the underrepresentation of REM students in sport by creating opportunities for them to lead change from within.<\/p>\n
The REM Sport Inclusion Ambassador will work to increase\u00a0participation and visibility of racially and ethnically marginalised (REM) students in\u00a0sport and physical activity at the University of Kent. This student-led role will focus on\u00a0delivering inclusive sporting initiatives, removing access barriers, and championing the voices of underrepresented students across campus.<\/p>\n
The #TellYourStory campaign<\/a> revealed that REM students at Kent were underrepresented in sports clubs by 12%, highlighting systemic barriers to participation.
