Woolf College is a little different – our Woolf Accommodation is managed by UPP, who have chosen to continue with Circuit Laundry.

Woolf College

What does this mean for you? Consistency! If you’ve used Circuit before, you’ll already know how it works – no need to learn a new app or system. For new students, Circuit is straightforward to use: just download the app, top up your account, and you’re good to go.

The laundry rooms at Woolf remain fully equipped, and you’ll have the same convenience of on-site facilities whenever you need them.

Laundries elsewhere on campus

Park Wood, Tyler Court, Becket Court, Keynes College and Turing College laundries, are all run by our new provider WashCo. With WashCo, doing laundry on campus is designed to be easier and more student-friendly. Their modern machines are simple to use, energy-efficient, and even adjust to your load so you’re not wasting time or money. They’re also focused on sustainability, using less water and energy, which makes them kinder to the planet as well as your wardrobe. Altogether, WashCo brings a smoother, more reliable experience to everyday laundry on campus.

Laundry at Giles Court

Our brand-new building, Giles Court, will have its very own laundry facilities on-site. As with any new development, there’s a little more work to be done before everything is fully ready for use. In the meantime, we’re asking residents to use the laundry facilities at Keynes College. We’ll let you know as soon as the Giles Court laundry is up and running – and once it is, you’ll have the convenience of fresh, modern machines right in your building

4 reasons to love your WashCo laundry

Tips for getting started

Doing laundry on campus might not sound like the most exciting part of college life – but trust me, it’s an essential skill you’ll thank yourself for mastering early. Here are a few tips to make the process smoother:

Your One-Stop Guide to Campus Laundry with WashPoint

If you’re looking for where to do laundry on campus, the WashPoint page for University of Kent is super handy. You can use the map to find your nearest launderette, download the app, check in real-time if machines are available (no wandering across campus only to find every washer in use), and even get notifications when one frees up. The page explains how everything works, from paying with contactless (cards, GPay, Apple Pay etc.) to the eco-friendly perks (energy-efficient machines, tree-planting, etc.). It’s basically your one-stop shop to plan laundry without the usual guesswork.

Know the Machines

Most residences use shared washers and dryers. Check the instructions posted nearby so you don’t waste time or money.

How do I use the new machines?

Choose your machine (washing machine or tumble dryer)

Load the machine with your washing (3/4 full) and close the door

Select the programme you need (standard wash, full cycle dry etc)

Make contactless payment on the kiosk

Press ‘start’ on the machine

Timing is Everything

Weekends and evenings are peak hours. If you want to avoid hauling your hamper back and forth, aim for early mornings or mid-afternoons when fewer people are around. Alternatively, check the WashCo app or WashCo University of Kent webpage to see how busy your laundry is.

Don’t Overload

Stuffing everything into one load seems efficient, but it actually leaves your clothes less clean and takes longer to dry. Two smaller loads are always better than one giant one.

Be Courteous

Set a timer on your phone so you can move your clothes as soon as the cycle ends. Leaving laundry sitting too long can frustrate your neighbours – and sometimes they’ll move it out for you.

Bring the Essentials

Always have detergent, dryer sheets, and a laundry bag or basket. Note, our new machines only accept detergent capsules, so please don’t buy washing powders which go into the detergent draw. Bonus: a small mesh bag for socks and underwear saves you from the dreaded “missing sock mystery.”

Pricing for all laundries on campus

Laundry prices across campus are changing from 22 September 2025, in line with the upgraded facilities:

Additional Information

If you have an unused balance on your Circuit Laundry app, please contact Circuit directly to request a refund:

Phone: 01422 820040

Email: circuitgo@circuitgroup.com

Laundry might never be glamorous, but it’s a small step toward independence.
