They exist to bring communities together, create opportunities, and campaign for changes to the experiences of students at Kent. <br \/><br \/>The Racially and Ethnically Marginalised People\u2019s (REMP) Network ensures students from REM backgrounds are seen, heard, and valued at the University of Kent and Kent Students\u2019 Union. <br \/><br \/>The REMP Network have run several successful events, campaigns and projects in recent years, and have been involved with multiple KSU initiatives.<br \/><br \/>They were the first Network to run a Student Market &#8211; successfully facilitating the Black Student Market in 2023 where they provided a space for black student entrepreneurs to display and sell their products and services. <br \/><br \/>The REMP Network has also facilitated several workshops, panels, and other discussions, such as the Talking Culture Workshop, inviting students to enhance their intercultural awareness. They also were involved with the Black Lives Matter march in Canterbury in 2020, and it has overall been a brilliant space for REM students to build community, and campaign for positive change!<br \/><br \/>We are looking for a REMP Network Chair. Find out more below.<br \/><br \/>In the role of REMP Network chair, you would: <br \/><br \/>\u2794 Raise awareness of issues that impact REM Students to students, the University of Kent, and Kent Student\u2019 Union <br \/>\u2794 Create and support campaigns to improve the REMP student experience on campus <br \/>\u2794 Lead the REMP Network<br \/>\u2794 Communicate regularly with members of the REMP Network <br \/>\u2794 Attend relevant Kent Students\u2019 Union and University of Kent Meetings <br \/>\u2794 Attend Network Chair training <br \/>\u2794 Help with and promote Kent Students\u2019 Union campaigns <br \/>\u2794 Attend and take an active part in KSU Parliament meetings and attend relevant training<br \/><br \/>Why should you nominate yourself?<br \/><br \/>In your role, you will have the opportunity to: <br \/><br \/>\u2794 Develop new skills such as advocacy, representation and leadership <br \/>\u2794 Shape Kent Students\u2019 Union policy <br \/>\u2794 Network and meet new people <br \/>\u2794 Make a real difference to your student experience and a positive difference to other students\u2019 lives<br \/>\u2794 Not just point out issues, but be a part of the solution<br \/><br \/>The Nominations for the Network Chair Roles are open from Monday 29.
