{"id":3063,"date":"2026-07-13T14:09:04","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T13:09:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/?p=3063"},"modified":"2026-07-13T14:56:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T13:56:08","slug":"summer-access-to-pcs-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/2026\/07\/13\/summer-access-to-pcs-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer access to PCs on campus\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you&#8217;re studying on campus over the summer, you&#8217;ll still have access to a range of standard and enhanced PCs despite some computer rooms being temporarily unavailable for annual maintenance and software updates.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Whether\u00a0you&#8217;re\u00a0completing coursework, undertaking resits or using specialist software, there are plenty of PCs available across campus\u00a0throughout Summer.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Standard PCs<\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Standard PCs are available in the following locations:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/cornwallis-octagon\/copc1\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cornwallis Octagon PC Room 1<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 41 PCs<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/cornwallis-north-west\/cnwpc2\">Cornwallis NW PC Room 2<\/a> (Multimedia Lab)<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0\u2013 25 standard PCs<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/keynes-college\/ksa1\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">KeynesStudy Hub <\/span><\/b><\/a><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(KSA1 PC Room)<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u2013 42 PCs<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/templeman-library\/\">Templeman<\/a> D2 PC Room <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2013 25 standard PCs, plus four enhanced PCs (also provisioned for gaming)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/life\/postgraduate-spaces\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Postgraduate Study Spaces<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2013 various locations<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Enhanced PCs<\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you need specialist software, enhanced PCs are available in:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/kennedy\/kenpc3\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kennedy PC Room 3<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 60 enhanced PCs with the full range of standard and CEMS student software<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/marlowe-building\/marpc1\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marlowe PC Room 1<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 23 enhanced PCs with the full range of standard software and Arts &amp; Humanities software, including Architecture software<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/marlowe-building\/\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marlowe Editing Suites<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 a small number of enhanced PCs with the full range of standard software and Arts &amp; Humanities software<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/templeman-library\/\">Templeman<\/a> D2 PC Room<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u2013 four enhanced PCs available in the PC room on Floor 2 (Block D) of Templeman Library. They have full range of standard and enhanced software across all subject areas.<\/span><\/span>These PCs will be available throughout the summer, except during a core Clearing period between 12th-17th August.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Please be aware that, as per usual, some rooms may occasionally be unavailable due to teaching, resits or Summer School activities.<\/p>\n<h3><span data-contrast=\"none\">Templeman D3 summer closure<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Templeman D3 will be temporarily unavailable for use July- September as it is used to support Clearing operations. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To help maintain access to specialist software and gaming facilities, four enhanced PCs have been relocated to Templeman D2 for the summer.
