Recently, there have been a few cases of fraudulent emails being sent through university accounts. The important thing is not to be worried – just informed.<\/p>\n
Scammers may also try to move the conversation onto platforms like WhatsApp or iMessage, where they can continue the conversation more privately.<\/p>\n
No university staff member or official process will ever ask you to pay using gift cards (like Apple or Amazon) or send money directly to an individual. If you see this, it\u2019s a clear red flag.<\/p>\n
If an email asks you to continue the conversation on WhatsApp or iMessage, it\u2019s best not to engage. Legitimate university communication will stay within official channels.<\/p>\n
