The barrier operational start date is 29<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> April 2026.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What you need to know about the new ANPR barrier:<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When entering the Drill Hall car park, the ANPR camera will read your vehicle registration number (VRN).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">During permit holder hours Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00, access to this car park will be if the vehicle is registered with a valid University of Kent virtual parking permit or a permit exemption which has been approved by the University of Kent Transport Team.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Outside of permit holder hours (Monday to Friday 17:00 to 8:00, weekends and bank holidays) the barrier will automatically open for any vehicle.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There will be an intercom at the barrier which will be\u00a0monitored\u00a024\/7 by\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/commercial-services-estates\/security\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Campus Security<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Whilst a vehicle may be allowed through the barrier, it is still the responsibility of the driver to ensure that\u00a0they.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"6\" data-list-defn-props=\"{&quot;335552541&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559991&quot;:360,&quot;469769226&quot;:&quot;Symbol&quot;,&quot;469769242&quot;:[8226],&quot;469777803&quot;:&quot;left&quot;,&quot;469777804&quot;:&quot;\uf0b7&quot;,&quot;469777815&quot;:&quot;multilevel&quot;}\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">are\u00a0always parked within a designated parking area.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"6\" data-list-defn-props=\"{&quot;335552541&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559991&quot;:360,&quot;469769226&quot;:&quot;Symbol&quot;,&quot;469769242&quot;:[8226],&quot;469777803&quot;:&quot;left&quot;,&quot;469777804&quot;:&quot;\uf0b7&quot;,&quot;469777815&quot;:&quot;multilevel&quot;}\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">have activated the correct vehicle on their permit account, or have the correct permit displayed in their windscreen if they do not have a virtual University of Kent parking permit for our Medway campus car parks, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Information for Permit Holders<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Virtual parking permit holders<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The virtual permit database will feed the VRN of the vehicle that is marked as \u2018active\u2019 on each permit account to the ANPR barrier every 30 minutes.
