{"id":2427,"date":"2026-04-08T15:22:46","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T14:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/?p=2427"},"modified":"2026-04-08T15:24:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T14:24:23","slug":"power-outage-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/student-news\/2026\/04\/08\/power-outage-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Power Outage on our Canterbury Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is currently a power outage affecting the following buildings\/areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sports Hall 1\/Centre<\/li>\n<li>Ballistic Building<\/li>\n<li>Ingram 1 &amp; 2<\/li>\n<li>NMR<\/li>\n<li>Stacey<\/li>\n<li>Chipperfield<\/li>\n<li>Chipperfield Annexe<\/li>\n<li>Kennedy<\/li>\n<li>Woody\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>A number of Park Wood Houses<\/li>\n<li>Park Wood Admin Building<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The issue is believed to be due to a failure in the UK Power Networks supply. Unfortunately, this can only be reset by our energy provider.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently in contact with UK Power Networks to restore power. Based on previous incidents, resolution typically takes approximately <strong>3\u20134 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Our teams are also checking surrounding buildings to assess any further impact.
