This course is available for you for free as part of your studies and is taught by experts in the fields of education and AI.<\/p>\n<p>By giving\u202fthis training and\u202faccess to the tool to all students,\u202fwe hope to reduce the digital divide that can be present where not all students are able to afford premium tools.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Will students\u202fbe required\u202fto\u202fdisclose\u202fuse\u202fof\u202fAI?\u202f<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Guidance on disclosure will\u202fbe dependent on your subject. The decisions made by your tutors\u202fare\u202fprovided as part of individual assessment instructions on Moodle.\u202fWe\u202fhave extensive guidance for\u202fappropriate use\u202fof AI in your studies as well as dedicated information on the use of our AI platform.\u202fSee the\u202fUsing Generative AI in your studies\u202fpage for further guidance and available training.\u202fPlease contact your school\u202fwith any questions about\u202fhow AI\u202fuse\u202fmay be integrated into your course.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Will data be shared, and how is it protected? \u202f<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The university owns and controls staff and students&#8217; data in ChatGPT Edu. OpenAI does not train on your data or conversations, and its models don\u2019t learn from your usage. Any data that you\u202fsubmit\u202fto ChatGPT cannot be viewed by other students or staff (outside of our\u202fstandard IT use policies to\u202fmonitor\u202ffor inappropriate use,\u202fto meet legal requirements or for safeguarding reasons), unless you choose to share a conversationchat or ProjectGPT with other users in your workspace.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI encrypts all data at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+) between its customers and OpenAI, and between OpenAI and its service providers, and uses strict access controls to limit who can access data.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How will students with disabilities benefit or be protected?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A key feature of AI tools is that they can provide support for diverse requirements that students may have in their studies. Students with specific needs remain in receipt of an Inclusive Learning Plan\u00a0 (ILP) that sets out those needs.
