What is MFA?<\/h3>\n

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your Kent IT Account. Alongside your password, it asks you to confirm your identity using a second method \u2014 usually a notification or code sent to your phone.<\/p>\n

You cannot access University systems on devices that do not have MFA set up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to set it up?<\/h3>\n

  1. Log In:<\/strong> Access any Kent online service (e.g., email, Microsoft 365, Moodle). When it asks for more information, click Next.<\/li>\n
  2. Microsoft Authenticator App:<\/strong> When prompted, select and download this app as your primary method (recommended).<\/li>\n
  3. Set Up Backup Authentication:<\/strong> Add a secondary method like SMS or phone call to ensure access if your primary method is unavailable.<\/li>\n
  4. Follow On-Screen Instructions:<\/strong> Complete the setup by following the prompts provided.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
