The Careers and Employability Service is excited to be sharing an exclusive paid Software Development Internship for second, final and master’s students studying Computer Science / Software Engineering.
Join the tech team at Liftworks Ltd, a Kent based company, as an intern over the spring vacation working alongside the Technical Director, Software Architect, and Junior Developer. Receive direct training and mentorship from their Software Architect to learn new skills and work independently to contribute to a variety of code bases. Liftworks Ltd is a family-owned lift specialist company based in Strood Kent. Over this past year they have created a new tech team to author software for internal use. This year they are presenting an exciting paid internship opportunity exclusively to University of Kent students to temporarily join their tech team and make a real impact.
Primarily you will be responsible for writing unit tests and creating a CI pipeline. Secondarily you will choose a skill relevant to our tech stack to learn, and quickly make real contributions. (To be discussed in interview, tailored to your existing skills and what you enjoy).
Requirements
- Passion for software development and coding
- Eagerness to have a real impact within our codebases
- Working towards your Computer Science degree or a related degree e.g. Software Engineering
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of OOP fundamentals. Past assignments or personal projects in any OOP language are suitable
- Able to commute to Strood OR Northgate in Canterbury for transport
