Finding your feet: Get help with money, housing or commuting

Money worries, accommodation problems and commuting can all make it harder to focus on university life. If something is weighing on you, there are people at Kent and KSU who can help you understand your options.

Kent’s Finance team can explain funding and financial support options and KSU’s Campus Pantry offers short-term support with food and essential items for students who need it. Check out the facilities, services and resource KSU provide for Mature, Part-Time, Commuting and Caring students.

Living with others can be really great, but sometimes also challenging. KSU’s Advice Service provides free, impartial and confidential guidance on issues including housing, money and academic processes. Plus they run a Find A Housemate scheme to help connect you with other students. And if you have concerns about your household or accommodation, the university’s Student Welfare team also offer confidential advice.

It can help to ask for advice early, before a problem starts to feel too big. You don’t need to have a solution ready; talking through what’s happening can help you work out a next step.
