On Saturday 22 August, University of Kent staff assembled outside the Rochester Library & Community Hub, meeting up with colleagues from the University of Greenwich, Canterbury Christ Church University, and the Medway School of Pharmacy to join the Medway Pride parade! The parade started at 10.45, with people walking along the high street from Eastgate to the castle grounds, enjoying the Bloco Fogo samba band drumming along the way! The parade came to an end in the castle grounds, where an enormous Progress Pride flag was hung from the ramparts! Parade members were then able to stay and enjoy the Pride event in the castle grounds, watching the acts on the stage or heading over to the Kent stall to pose with the butterfly wings! University of Kent staff and student ambassadors from the Outreach & Widening Participation team were involved in running the stand throughout the day, alongside staff and student ambassadors from the University of Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church University.
