Together with Kent Students’ Union, we’ve increased access to free period products across our campuses. We’ve installed new period product dispensers in key locations at our Canterbury campus in women’s and gender-neutral facilities, to make sure they can be accessed by anyone who needs them.

We have also installed new period product dispensers at the Medway campus in the Medway Building and The Hub.
This project came directly from student feedback in the Cost of Living survey where students said they were buying fewer period products as they were worried about money. Period products are not a luxury, and we want to ensure all students can access these on campus whenever they need to.

Teslimah Bellow, VP Welfare, International & Communities said:
“This work is part of a wider commitment to student wellbeing and inclusion, ensuring that everyone can focus on their studies and daily life without unnecessary stress or discomfort.
We’ll continue working to secure more funding so this initiative can grow even further, and I’d really encourage you to use the products whenever you need to – that’s what they are there for.
If you have any suggestions or feedback on how we can improve access further, please reach out to me at t.bello-650@kent.ac.uk.”
