Future Ready Fashion – A Clothes Swap Event

“Swap, Don’t Shop! Refresh Your Wardrobe Sustainably.”

Our student Global Officers in collaboration with Kent Student’s Union Advice Service are hosting a clothes swap event next week, on Friday 6 March in The Venue, from 10-4pm.

We are encouraging you to think sustainably as well as financially, looking at how you can save money and act responsibly now that Spring is on its way and you may be reviewing or refreshing your wardrobes.

Call for Donations in Advance

We would like you to donate unwanted clean, good quality clothes in advance of the main Clothes Swap event (so we can set up ‘shop’ for you) at drop off locations around campus next week, 2nd – 5th March.

Rutherford Extension Reception (Careers, Employability and Skills) (donate between 10-4pm)

Mandela Building (donate during opening hours)

Kent Sport Centre (Friday 27th Feb and Monday 2 March 1.30-5.30pm only)

The more clothes you donate, the more items you get to swap! Clothes will be checked for quality and cleanliness. Each item will get you a virtual token, (up to 10 tokens).  On event day, you will be given the tokens which you will use to ‘buy’ whichever items you choose.

There will also be a ‘Future Ready‘ rail for those looking to invest in some interview or work-ready pieces for your wardrobe.

Items NOT accepted include:

  • Damaged or dirty clothing
  • Jewellery
  • Underwear, socks, tights

We WILL accept all good condition clothes, shoes, accessories and bags.

If you can’t donate in advance, we will also be accepting donations on the morning of the swap in The Venue from 10am-12pm.

No clothes to donate?

No problem, You’ll get 2 tokens at the door to ‘spend’ inside the Venue.

Any queries, please contact GlobalOpportunities@kent.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing you there!
