Women’s voices in a shared season at the Templeman

Explore and discover amazing women

We are celebrating Women’s History Month in the Templeman Library this month, recognising women who champion equality, diversity and inclusion.

This March, the School of Arts and Architecture and the Templeman Library mark the overlap of Purim, Ramadan, and Women’s History Month with a curated display of books by women scholars, writers, and thinkers with Jewish and Muslim backgrounds, working across the arts, humanities, and architecture.

The authors featured here represent a wide spectrum of positions and perspectives. Some engage directly with cultural or religious traditions; others write from secular, critical, or non-religious standpoints. What unites them is not belief, but intellectual contribution: rigorous scholarship, creative insight, and sustained influence on how we understand art, culture, space, history, and society.

This display invites readers to reflect on shared temporalities, parallel histories, and distinct voices, and to recognize the central role women have played, and continue to play, in shaping knowledge across disciplines.
