Short Stay Accommodation when you need it most

Let’s be honest – commuting to uni has its perks. Living at home can mean home-cooked meals, your own space, and maybe even some money saved. But there are definitely those weeks when getting to campus feels like climbing a mountain. Early morning exams, late-night group projects, or just a week when everything seems to pile on at once.

Sound familiar? That’s exactly why we have Short Stay Accommodation.

What is Short Stay Accommodation?

Think of it as your backup plan when life gets hectic. Short Stay Accommodation gives you the option to live on campus for a short amount of time, whenever you need it most. It’s designed specifically for students who usually commute but need to be closer to campus during busy or unpredictable times.

You’ll have an en-suite room in Tyler Court, with access to a shared kitchen and equipment – and most importantly, you’ll be right in the heart of campus life.

When might you need it?

Everyone’s situation is different, but here are some times when staying on campus could help:

  • During intense academic weeks – When you’ve got multiple deadlines, exams, or presentations all happening at once, the last thing you need is a stressful commute eating into your study time.
  • When transport lets you down – Train strikes, bad weather, or service disruptions can turn your usual journey into a nightmare. Sometimes it’s just easier to stay put.
  • For early starts or late finishes – Got a 9am exam after a late night in the library? Or rehearsals that run until 10pm? Being on campus means you can focus on what matters without worrying about catching the last train or bus home.
  • Group project deadlines – We all know how group work goes. Last-minute meetings, sudden changes, and lots of coordination. If your teammates live on campus, staying nearby makes everything so much smoother.
  • When home isn’t ideal – Maybe there’s building work happening, guests staying over, or you just need a quiet space to concentrate. Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what you need.

What’s included?

For £48 per night, you’ll have:

  • Your own en-suite room in Tyler Court (yes, your own bathroom!)
  • A spacious shared kitchen with basic equipment for cooking and socialising with other students
  • Bed linen and towels
  • The freedom to come and go as you please
  • Access to everything campus has to offer, from the library to the gym to late-night study spaces.

More than just a room

Staying on campus means you’re minutes from lectures, the library, and study spaces. You can use the gym before class, join lunchtime society meetings, or work late in the library without worrying about catching the last train home. Plus, Canterbury’s historic streets, cafes, and nightlife are all on your doorstep.
