Get Heard: The Power of Student Reps at Kent

Did you know you have a say in shaping your experience at the University of Kent? Student Representatives — or Student Reps — make sure your voice is heard and your feedback leads to real change.

What Are Student Reps?

Student Reps represent their peers within each School and programme. They collect feedback, share it with staff, and help improve teaching, resources, and facilities. Supported by Kent Students’ Union, Reps are the vital link between students and staff — helping Kent continually improve.

Why Student Reps Matter

Even if you’re not a Rep, their work benefits you:

  • Your voice counts: Reps collect feedback via the KSU Coursemates tool and share it with decision-makers.
  • Safe feedback: Reps can raise issues anonymously on your behalf.
  • Real results: From better study spaces to course improvements, many changes start with Reps.

Why Become a Student Rep?

Make a difference and gain valuable experience:

  • Shape your course and improve the student experience.
  • Build skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Get recognised with Employability Points and formal recognition.
  • Meet new people and work with staff and students passionate about change.

Get Involved

Reps are recruited throughout the year — mainly at the start of term. To find out more or put yourself forward, visit the Kent Students’ Union Student Reps page.
