Living on campus should be convenient, comfortable, and hassle-free — and when something isn’t quite right, the Home at Halls app makes it super easy to get it sorted!
How to report a fault
If you spot a defect, damage, or maintenance issue, head to the issue-reporting tile in the app and fill in the short form. Once submitted, your report goes straight to our Maintenance Team, who’ll assess and schedule the repair based on how urgent it is.
You can check our usual response times in the app, so you’ll know roughly when to expect a fix.
Urgent or emergency issues
If it’s an emergency – like a flood or power outage – please make sure you call as well as report it in the app:

Need a temporary room?
We know that some faults can really disrupt your day-to-day life. If you’re affected by a serious issue and need a temporary space, contact the Accommodation Team before 4:00 pm (Monday–Friday):

Depending on room availability, we’ll do our best to offer you a temporary or alternative room until the repair is sorted.
What happens next?
If repairs take longer than expected, we may offer a permanent move to a different room. Our goal is always to make sure your accommodation stays safe, comfortable, and functional.
Common issues
- Wi-Fi issues? We’ve recently upgraded our wireless access points across campus. Occasionally, an access point might need to be manually fixed by our Information Services (IS) Team. Don’t worry – IS follow the same access and door-knocking procedures as any other maintenance visit.
- Heating problems? Most of our radiators are part of a remote system that adjusts automatically throughout the day. 👉 Before reporting, check that your radiator is turned on (lift the head and turn it anti-clockwise) and see whether the issue affects just your radiator or others in your flat. Reporting issues outside your room
If you notice a problem around campus – like with communal areas, grounds, or cleaning services – get in touch with Customer Services and Estates (weekdays, 08:00–17:00). They’re your go-to contact for all general maintenance and facilities enquiries.
