Networks are student-led spaces for students who share a particular interest or identity. They exist to bring communities together, create opportunities, and campaign for changes to the experiences of students at Kent.
The Racially and Ethnically Marginalised People’s (REMP) Network ensures students from REM backgrounds are seen, heard, and valued at the University of Kent and Kent Students’ Union.
The REMP Network have run several successful events, campaigns and projects in recent years, and have been involved with multiple KSU initiatives.
They were the first Network to run a Student Market – successfully facilitating the Black Student Market in 2023 where they provided a space for black student entrepreneurs to display and sell their products and services.
The REMP Network has also facilitated several workshops, panels, and other discussions, such as the Talking Culture Workshop, inviting students to enhance their intercultural awareness. They also were involved with the Black Lives Matter march in Canterbury in 2020, and it has overall been a brilliant space for REM students to build community, and campaign for positive change!
