Here&#8217;s a catch-up post:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.st-andrews.ac.uk\/physics\/PHP_Global\/Staff_Info.php?id=311\">Chris Hooley<\/a> spent 18 and 19 March 2014 visiting us. He gave a lively <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physical-sciences\/seminars\/index.html\">colloquium<\/a>, (<em>lots<\/em> of audience participation!) under the title &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physical-sciences\/seminars\/hooley.pdf\">Phases and phase transitions: old ideas and new problems<\/a>&#8220;. Chris also had many discussions with <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/strongcorrelations\/people\/hannah-irons\/\">Hannah<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/strongcorrelations\/people\/brunos-research\/\">Bruno<\/a> and me and also with other members of FMG (chiefly Sam Carr, who is also Chris&#8217; collaborator).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/cnls.lanl.gov\/External\/people\/Adolfo_delCampo.php\">Adolfo del Campo<\/a> also visited us that week (20-21 March 2014) and gave a very interesting, informal research seminar on <a href=\"http:\/\/xxx.lanl.gov\/abs\/1310.1600\">phase transition dynamics.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Finally, the following week our visitors bonanza concluded (for now!) with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tcm.phy.cam.ac.uk\/~cc726\/\">Claudio Castelnovo<\/a> (25-26 March 2014), who also gave a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physical-sciences\/seminars\/index.html\">colloquium<\/a>, with the title &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physical-sciences\/seminars\/castelnovo.pdf\">Manifestations of monopole physics in spin ice materials<\/a>&#8220;. Claudio&#8217;s colloquium was very well received.
