Winners and runners-up for each category were awarded to:<\/p>\n<h4>Innovation Champion<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Emma Kember<\/strong>, LSSJ Employability and Placements Manager, was the winner\u00a0of the Innovative Champion award.\u00a0 This award recognises creative individuals and teams that have delivered true innovation through outstanding projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and\/or in research and teaching. In this regard, she was particularly celebrated for the excellent work that she has done to improve and support the work placements operations on the Social Work programmes in SSPSSR.<\/p>\n<h4>Supportive Colleague<\/h4>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/1560\/shaw-simon\">Simon Shaw<\/a>,<\/strong> SSPSSR Director of Education, came second for the Supportive Colleague\u00a0award. This award recognises individuals who have embodied the spirit and values of the University, in particular colleagues who have demonstrated inclusivity or have gone above and beyond to connect with others by providing advice, support and help to colleagues, students or the University as a whole.<\/p>\n<h4>Community Ambassador<\/h4>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/1467\/sundberg-trude\">Trude Sundberg<\/a><\/strong>, one of the LSSJ EDI Leads, was awarded third place in the award for Community Ambassador, which honours teams or individuals who have made a positive impact on the community outside of their duties through outstanding dedication, competence, altruism, passion and citizenship. Trude&#8217;s work in support of LGBTQ+ communities was highlighted as a particular achievement in this regard.<\/p>\n<h4>Great Team<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Claire Ashton<\/strong>, along with other members of the Kent Unicorns staff netball team, was awarded second place in\u00a0the Great Team award that \u00a0recognises teams that have delivered an outstanding project, overcome significant challenges or gone above and beyond to deliver an outstanding service.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/3716\/adewumi-barbara\">Dr Barabara Adewumi<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/1969\/jassal-vanisha\">Vanisha Jassal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/1951\/ng-andu-bridget\">Bridget Ng&#8217;andu<\/a> <\/strong>were awarded third place, along with other co-chairs of the University of Kent BAME staff network, in the Great Team award.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all those that were nominated and awarded.
