CCP is marking the milestone with a webinar series in the autumn term entitled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/centre-for-child-protection\/critical-conversations\">Critical Conversations in Child Protection\u2019<\/a> which ends with a celebratory, on campus, public event on Wednesday 9 November.<\/p>\n<p>This celebration is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/about\/law-society-and-social-justice\">Law, Society and Social Justice<\/a> (LSSJ) Division\u2019s \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/events\/event\/55779\/social-justice-celebrating-collaboration-impact\">Social Justice: Celebrating Collaboration &amp; Impact\u2019 Week (7-11 Nov 2022)<\/a> and aims to set the CCP\u2019s agenda for the next decade. It will also reveal the winner of CCP\u2019s first rendition of the \u201cCollaboration Award 2022: Celebrating Outstanding Multidisciplinary Working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CCP was established in October 2012 and aims to get to the heart of child protection training by using innovative ideas and the latest technology. CCP consists of a team of experts in the field of child protection with diverse areas of research, interests and practice experiences. They use contemporary research with cutting-edge child protection simulations to deliver an online, multi-professional and international <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/2021\/326\/advanced-child-protection\">Advanced Child Protection MA<\/a>, as well as delivering award-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/centre-for-child-protection\/training-simulations\/zak\">continuing professional development (CPD)<\/a> programmes for inter-disciplinary child protection professionals.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Critical Conversations in Child Protection: A Webinar Series<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The Centre for Child Protection\u2019s (CCP) five-part webinar series is aimed at facilitating learning from the latest research, practice knowledge and theory around safeguarding children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>The first webinar begins on 21 September with an informative topic on the relationship dynamics between parents and social workers. The series closes on 2 November with an exploration into how simulations create safe spaces to learn and \u201cpractise\u201d practice. Tag us @UniKentCCP and follow the conversation at #CriticalConversations.<\/p>\n<p>Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/centre-for-child-protection\/critical-conversations\">CCP\u2019s website<\/a> where you can read each of the synopses and register your place on the webinars.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Collaboration Award 2022: celebrating outstanding multidisciplinary working<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/files\/2022\/07\/CCPs-collaboration-award-2022-FINAL.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6091\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/files\/2022\/07\/CCPs-collaboration-award-2022-FINAL.png\" alt=\"CCP Collaboration Award Poster \" width=\"366\" height=\"518\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Centre for Child Protection (CCP) is introducing an award for child protection professionals engaged in outstanding collaborative work across disciplines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Strong multi-disciplinary collaboration is essential in child safeguarding work and duties to cooperate between agencies to keep children safe is enshrined in legislation. Concern with multidisciplinary collaboration is routinely raised as a concern in Serious Case Reviews\/Child Practice Reviews and highlighted as a key area for further development and learning. CCP works within a diverse multi-disciplinary population of child protection professionals and regularly hears good examples of strong multi-agency practices that should be recognised and celebrated alongside the promotion of learning from good practice to promote effective multi-disciplinary working.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">We want to hear your narratives of good collaborative practices across disciplines within the child protection settings and applaud the good work being undertaken!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Submissions sought from:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Child protection workers engaged in creative, effective, and collaborative practices across disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Judging\/submission criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500-word (maximum) submission outlining either a specific account OR a sustained process\/ system demonstrating outstanding multi-disciplinary practice.<\/li>\n<li>Must include an account of work between at least two separate disciplines (e.g., police and social care; education and health, third sector organisations, social care and health, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Impact of the multi-disciplinary collaboration should be clearly identified.<\/li>\n<li>Details of those engaged with the services must be completely anonymised so that those in receipt of services are not identifiable.<\/li>\n<li>Permission for entry from all inter-disciplinary collaborators is required.<\/li>\n<li>Examples from national and international child protection collaborations will be reviewed and considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a3500 prize<\/li>\n<li>The winning team\u2019s work will be promoted on the CCP\u2019s website and social media platforms.<\/li>\n<li>They will be invited to contribute to a webinar outlining the inter-disciplinary work they have undertaken in order to celebrate and promote good practice and learning opportunities amongst the child protection community.<\/li>\n<li>The winning submission will be featured on our website and promoted amongst CCP\u2019s multi-disciplinary communities to disseminate good practice examples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submissions must be made by <strong>Monday 3rd October <\/strong>at <strong>4.00pm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Entries will be judged by a multi-disciplinary panel of independent and impartial adjudicators.<\/li>\n<li>The winner will be announced on Wednesday the 9th of November during a live event on Canterbury campus celebrating CCP\u2019s 10-year anniversary.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates are encouraged to attend the public event; however, attendance is not mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Centre for Child Protection\u2019s 10<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary event<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Centre for Child Protection (CCP) is delighted to invite you to an in-person, and live-streamed, celebratory event on Wednesday 9 November.<\/p>\n<p>The day marks the coming together of child protection practitioners, alumni, collaborators, academic colleagues, and friends of CCP to celebrate their achievements.
