{"id":5959,"date":"2022-01-04T08:36:33","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T08:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/?p=5959"},"modified":"2022-01-04T08:36:33","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T08:36:33","slug":"dr-beth-breeze-awarded-an-obe-in-new-year-honours-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/2022\/01\/04\/dr-beth-breeze-awarded-an-obe-in-new-year-honours-list\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Beth Breeze awarded an OBE in New Year Honours List"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">We are\u00a0delighted to report that\u00a0Dr Beth Breeze\u00a0has been been made an\u00a0Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)\u00a0\u201cFor services to Philanthropic Research and Fundraising\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/people\/564\/breeze-beth\">Dr Breeze<\/a> is Director of the University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/philanthropy\/\">Centre for Philanthropy<\/a>, which she co-founded in 2008,\u00a0and\u00a0Reader in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/social-policy-sociology-social-research\/subjects\/social-policy-and-social-change\">Social Policy<\/a>. She has worked in the field of philanthropy for 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Upon being notified\u00a0of her OBE, Dr Breeze said: \u2018I am truly surprised and very grateful for the recognition this honour brings to my field of philanthropy research. I have the greatest respect for those who give their money and time, and those who work as fundraisers.
