Alisoun\u2019s research interests are in four intersecting areas: social work with older people and their families; mental health and ageing; family caring; and long term care. She recently published a book entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/policy.bristoluniversitypress.co.uk\/mental-health-in-later-life\">\u2018Mental Health in Later Life: taking a lifecourse approach\u2019<\/a> \u00a0and is a member of the Research Excellence Framework 2021 sub-panel for Social Work and Social Policy.<\/p>\n<p>Alisoun is also a qualified and registered social worker and specialises in teaching social work with adults on the social work BA and MA programmes. She has a well established national profile including being a member of the Chief Social Worker for Adults Advisory Group, a founding editor of the <em>International Journal of Care and Caring<\/em> and Co-lead of a national group of social work academics with a special interest in social work with older people.
