Participants join the\u00a0online course and meet other learners from around the world. Learning is as easy and natural as chatting with a group of\u00a0friends.\u00a0 They learn with experts who&#8217;ll share their experience through videos, articles, quizzes and\u00a0discussions.<\/p>\n<p>This MOOC on Understanding Autism had been designed by Tizard Centre at the University of Kent.\u00a0 It is free to join and runs from 13\u00a0November for 4 weeks.\u00a0 International participants are particularly welcome.<\/p>\n<p>The MOOC has been co-designed with autistic people and will cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is autism\u2026 and does it exist?<\/li>\n<li>Social communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Sensory sensitivities and repetitive behaviours<\/li>\n<li>Co-occurring conditions<\/li>\n<li>Strengths and difficulties of people on the autism spectrum<\/li>\n<li>Lived experiences of people on the autism spectrum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants study in their own time (roughly 4 hours per week to cover the materials).\u00a0 If you have any queries please contact Dr Jill Bradshaw at J.Bradshaw@kent.ac.uk<br \/>\nTo register\/enroll or to look at the online information:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/autism#section-dates\">https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/autism#section-dates<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MOOCs are massive open online courses.
