{"id":4500,"date":"2016-10-04T09:28:23","date_gmt":"2016-10-04T08:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/tizard-news-events\/?p=1264"},"modified":"2016-10-04T09:28:23","modified_gmt":"2016-10-04T08:28:23","slug":"what-does-good-look-like","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/2016\/10\/04\/what-does-good-look-like\/","title":{"rendered":"What does good look like?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;font-size: small\">Together with Bev Murphy from United Response, Prof Julie Beadle-Brown(Tizard Centre) has developed a new resource for inspectors, quality monitors, commissioners and anyone else who might be looking at the quality of services for people with intellectual disability and\/or autism. \u00a0The guide outlines what good practice looks like and provides a set of observable indicators that a service is implementing person centred approaches such as Person Centred Active Support, The National Autistic Society\u2019s SPELL Framework, Total or Alternative and Augmentative Communication, and Positive Behaviour Support.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;font-size: small\">The guide can be used prior to or during observations to help the observer know what to look for and how to evaluate the service.
