Numbers and statistics have become part of our daily working – and social –\u00a0lives. This means that we are frequently\u00a0presented with,\u00a0use, interpret\u00a0and react to\u00a0numbers. As a result it is increasingly important to be able to accurately interpret, assess and understand how others use and present numerical information.<\/p>\n
Entitled ‘Behind the\u00a0numbers’,\u00a0Dr Trude Sundberg will\u00a0talk about some key quantitative concepts\u00a0which\u00a0can be used when assessing\u00a0statistics which\u00a0help\u00a0us to\u00a0get ‘behind’ the numbers. She will also discuss how these can be used to create compelling, accurate and meaningful stories about both positive and negative figures and results.<\/p>\n
Dr Trude Sundberg is Lecturer in Social Policy\u00a0based in the\u00a0University’s\u00a0Q-Step Centre which\u00a0was established to\u00a0deliver innovative teaching\u00a0in applied social sciences.
