These are devoted to the strange desert-like linear shingle \u00a0landscape of Dungeness and some of the human interventions into this landscape. There is also a special garden installation made in collaboration with the ceramist Psiche Hughes.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a programme of events to accompany this exhibition, including the #EarBox series of lunchtime concerts.<\/p>\n<p>Venue:- School of Arts, Studio 3, ground floor<br \/>\nOpen:&#8211;Monday to\u00a0Friday 11:00 \u2013 17:00,<br \/>\nDates:&#8211; end Friday 10th June<\/p>\n<p>A Portrait of Europe<\/p>\n<p>This series of portrait paintings of citizens from each of the European Union states by fifteen UK artists is currently showing in the Colyer Ferguson Building. The creation of the paintings was sponsored by the IMOS foundation<\/p>\n<p>Venue:- Colyer Ferguson Building , first floor landing<br \/>\nOpen:- seven days a week 09.00-17.00 or when the building is open<br \/>\nDates:&#8211; ends Thursday 26th May<\/p>\n<p>There is an Alternative! Critical comics and cartoons<\/p>\n<p>The current Templeman Gallery exhibition showcases a selection of original material, reprints, published material and paraphernalia by twenty-two American and British comic artists plus material from the British cartoon and Les Coleman archives., representing two prolific traditions in alternative comics.<\/p>\n<p>The works on display are commonly labelled as alternative in their respective traditions and understood as critically positioning themselves against a given mainstream (whether in comics, politics or culture).<\/p>\n<p>Through the displayed material, and drawing on the position of comics as an underground or marginal form, the exhibition investigates the issue of what it means to be \u2018alternative\u2019 and \u2018critical\u2019 in contemporary society.<\/p>\n<p>Venue:- Templeman Library, first floor landing<br \/>\nOpen &#8211; seven days a week 08.00-21.00 or when the building is open<br \/>\nDates &#8211; ends Friday 1st July<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are three free admission art exhibitions currently running on the Canterbury campus.
