The University has achieved a top 10 position in seven subject areas in the latest Complete University Guide (2017). This is up from four in 2016 and included in the top ten are SSPSSR’s Social Policy and Social Work.<\/p>\n
Kent’s subjects in the top 10 are: Social Policy<\/a> (3rd); American Studies<\/a> (6th); Forensic Science<\/a> (6th); Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation & Tourism<\/a> (7th); Social Work<\/a> (9th) and Architecture<\/a> (10th). Its activity in modules related to Occupational Therapy secured it a 1st\u00a0place in this area.<\/p>\n Kent has also achieved a top 20 position in 14 subject areas (up from 12 in 2016), including Sociology and Law (in which Criminology is assessed).<\/p>\n Its subjects in the top 20 are:\u00a0 Art & Design<\/a> (12th); Marketing<\/a> (12th); Psychology<\/a>\u00a0(12th); Sports Science<\/a> (13th); Anthropology<\/a> (14th); History of Art<\/a> (14th); Creative Writing<\/a> (14th); Drama, Dance & Cinematics <\/a>(16th); Italian\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a>(17th); Sociology\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a>(18th); Law\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a> (19th); Linguistics\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a> (19th); Theology & Religious Studies\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a> (19th) and Economics\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/a> (20th).<\/p>\n Overall, the University has maintained its top level position with its 23rd place out of 127 UK universities.<\/p>\n Kent’s other recent league table achievements include: 16th in the Guardian University Guide 2016; 23rd in the Times and Sunday Times University Guide 2016; and 12th in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2016.<\/p>\n In the\u00a0Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings<\/em>\u00a02015-16,<\/em>\u00a0Kent is in the top 10% of the world’s leading universities for international outlook and 66th\u00a0in its table of the most international universities in the world. The THE also ranked the University as 20th\u00a0in its ‘Table of Tables’ 2016.<\/p>\n Kent is also ranked 17th for research intensity by the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
