{"id":2191,"date":"2014-10-22T13:09:31","date_gmt":"2014-10-22T13:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/?p=2191"},"modified":"2019-05-21T14:14:56","modified_gmt":"2019-05-21T13:14:56","slug":"imagine-sheppey-event-8-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sspssr-news-events\/2014\/10\/22\/imagine-sheppey-event-8-november\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Imagine Sheppey&#8217; event 8 November"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">The &#8216;Imagine Sheppey&#8217; project is about how young people imagine their futures.<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">At the event we will present and invite discussion about some of our research findings and the video we have made which documents the process of imagining the future used in this project. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Working with the artists <\/span><a title=\"Tea artists\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teaweb.org\/Home.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Tea<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"> and a group of young participants, we explored the young people\u2019s images and ideas about the future through improvised performances and activities. You can see photos from our workshops and related posts on our <\/span><a title=\"Imagine Sheppey Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/imaginesheppey\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Facebook<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"> page. This research builds on earlier work in the <\/span><a title=\"Living and working on Sheppey website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.livingandworkingonsheppey.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Living and Working on Sheppey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"> project which used narrative to explore futures.\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Calibri;font-size: small\">&#8216;Imagine Sheppey&#8217;<\/span> is part of a large <span style=\"color: black\">AHRC\/ESRC <\/span>Connected Communities research grant called <\/span><a title=\"Imagine website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imaginecommunity.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span style=\"color: #0066cc;font-family: Calibri\">Imagine<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Participation at this event is free but please confirm your attendance\u00a0via <\/span><a title=\"Email\" href=\"imaginesheppey@kent.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">imaginesheppey@kent.ac.uk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">.
