Modernity, instrumentalisation and the use of pain as a Body Technique\u2019, in <em>European Journal of Social Theory<\/em>.\u00a0 His article, \u2018Durkheim, morality and modernity: collective effervescence, homo duplex and the sources of moral action\u2019, has again been reprinted, this time in R. Cotterrell (ed.), <em>\u00c9mile Durkheim Justice, Morality and Politics<\/em>.
