Following the success of The Student Success (EDI) Project, which won a Times Higher Education award for outstanding student support in November 2017, the team members are continuing their work by designing and embedding educational strategies at a school level with a focus on students at risk of under-performance.
Dr Alexander Hensby and Dr Lavinia Mitton are both members of the award-winning team, and as the project moves into Phase II, Dr Hensby will be joined by Louise Frith and a new Student Success Lecturer appointment to develop new research and strategies for students in the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research. Alexander says “It was great to win the THE award in recognition of our work to promote student equality. Phase II of the project gives us the opportunity to build on the lessons learned”.
