Join Professor Julia Twigg as she takes part in the lively, informative and thought-provoking ‘Older Women Rock’ Discussion Day at Folkestone’s Quarterhouse.
The brainchild of spoken word poet and former artist in residence at the University of Kent Leah Thorn, ‘Older Women Rock’ is a movement to explore and share experiences of aging as a woman.
Author of ‘Fashion and Age: Dress, the Body and Later Life’, Julia is taking part in the project’s ‘Discussion Day’ on Saturday at 15.30, examining the changing relationship women have with clothes and fashion as they age. Julia will also introduce a panel of women who will share their own clothing choices giving a unique – and sometimes colourful – insight into their feminist journey, exploring freedom of expression versus constraints through their life-course.
For more information about ‘Older Women Rock’ including the pop-up shop, visit the project website. All are welcome to attend Julia’s talk, or others taking part during the Discussion Day – to book your place, go to the Folkestone Quarterhouse website.
