Monographs and Books in the Social Sciences and Humanities – Workshop 1600 11th May

A reminder about the forthcoming free event – a workshop on 11 May about how, when and where to publish in the Social Sciences and Humanities.  The event is open to all and would be particularly attractive to early career researchers and those thinking of publishing a book or monograph for the first time. The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss issues around open access and e-publishing, new models of academic publishing and the merits of short form books versus the fully blown research monograph.

The event will have contributions  from published authors in the social sciences and humanities including Professor Feargal Cochrane (POLIR), Professor Davina Cooper (KLS), Professor Ben Hutchinson (SECL), and Professor Miri Song (SSPSSR). In addition  Commissioning Editors from the major publishing houses Manchester University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge and Sage will be present.  The speakers will be happy to answer questions and talk to prospective authors at both the workshop and the wine reception after the workshop event.

Wednesday 11 May, 2016 16.00-17.30: Seminar Room 2, ground floor, Cornwallis East

Please send any questions or topics you want to be addressed to p.hubbard@kent.ac.uk in advance of the workshop.
