The great debate: philanthropy in higher education

A debate on the role of philanthropy within UK higher education is being held at the University of Kent on Tuesday 10 March 2015.

Bringing together stakeholders and sceptics, the discussion will focus on how funding from philanthropic sources contributes to the research, teaching, physical environment and identity of the University of Kent.

Dr Triona Fitton is a research associate at the Centre for Philanthropy in SSPSSR. Her book, Kent: The Philanthropy Story, will be published and launched at the Understanding Philanthropy conference, 29th June 2015 on the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus.
