As part of the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations, a placement has been specially created for an SSPSSR student. The successful student will help with the “50 Years of Feminism Project” during the 2014/15 academic year.
Throughout the anniversary year, this project will celebrate, showcase and disseminate the achievements of feminist academics at Kent in improving women’s rights and well-being through their research, scholarship, pedagogy and activism over the last four decades.

Job Description:
Austerity Conference:
- help out with the registration and planning the conference organisation, the booking/managing tickets and accommodation for participants.
Films:
- help out with organisation/promotion of the festival to the larger public, help with leads, provide links to modules, help out with booking/managing tickets and accommodation for speakers if needed.
Radical Women Symposium:
- help out with registration on the day of the symposium, and with the booking/managing of tickets, accommodation for participants, promoting the event to the larger public a nd to help out with administrative tasks related to the conference.
Website:
- help gather information needed for the website (from each of the sub-projects), help set up and promote the webpage.
Student Awards:
- help with administrative tasks and the promotion of the awards.
Please apply for this placement if you have good management skills, enjoy working with others and engaging in activities such as event management planning. You should have good organisational skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
