The School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (SSPSSR) is delighted to receive the International Impact Gold Award for a new blog showcasing internationally focused activity and influence. The blog features impactful work conducted by the School’s academic and student community and will continue to grow in the coming months as more case studies and stories are featured.
Director of International Programmes and Erasmus, Dr Carolyn Pedwell says, “The School embodies Kent’s Internationalisation Strategy by embedding and infusing international values and interests in all that it does, from research to education and student experience.”
SSPSSR is recognised worldwide for producing industry-leading research and was ranked 2nd in the UK for research power, 3rd for research intensity and 5th for both research impact and research quality (GPA) by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). The breadth, quality and global relevance of the School’s activity is presented in short articles on its International Impact blog, which showcases the scope of the work and study undertaken by the School.
The University of Kent’s Dean for Internationalisation, Dr Anthony Manning agrees, “The School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research contributes immensely to the University’s global programme of activity and relevance both through its partnerships, study opportunities and research. The School’s new blog is a central hub for this activity and a wonderful resource for colleagues, prospective students and collaborators.’
