Aida Malovic, Tizard, University of Kent: ‘Young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who display harmful sexual behaviours: their needs, vulnerabilities and grooming experiences’

Interactive workshops:

Choose two of the following interactive workshops.

1.  Using the ‘Zak’ simulation to spot signs of online grooming.

2.  Using the ‘Lottie’ simulation to look at the signs of child sexual exploitation from the perspective of the victim and the groomer.

3.  Using the ‘Maryam and Joe: Behind Closed Doors’ simulation to look at Maryam’s story – online grooming and hate crime.

4.  Using the ‘Maryam and Joe: Behind Closed Doors’ simulation to look Joe’s story – routes to radicalisation and extremism.

5.   Using the ‘myCourtroom: Rosie’s family go to court’ simulation, based on realistic scenarios designed to trigger discussions around court skills. This workshop is not addressing grooming, but has been added due to a high number of requests to run it, it is relevant to practitioners.
