Dr Jan Macvarish of the Centre for Health Services Studies and the Centre for Parenting Culture Studies was interviewed as part of a forthcoming Radio 4 programme, ‘The Teenage Pregnancy Myth’, to be broadcast at 11am on Monday 19th March.
The programme reflects on the high priority given by the New Labour government to ‘tackling’ teenage motherhood despite falling rates of teenage pregnancy, and asks why young mothers were targeted as a major social problem.
