Clair Gould is the School of Administration Manager for the School of Physical Sciences, and has has enjoyed a strong and successful career with over thirty years of business management, leadership and finance.<\/p>\n
Here, Clair Gould shares her answers to our “Meet the Staff” questions.<\/p>\n
1.What three words would you use to describe yourself?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Passionate; Conscientious; Practical.<\/p>\n 2. What inspires you in your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n To be successful and provide the best service possible.<\/p>\n 3. When did you first realise your interest\/passion for your role?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n When people start to push you into wider contributions and ask you to be more involved.<\/p>\n 4. What would you say was your greatest achievement?<\/strong><\/p>\n Developing a reasonably successful career, whilst bringing up three children and renovating three properties over 25 years.<\/p>\n 5. What would you say is the best part of your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n Facilitating. Helping to plant seeds of ideas that are developed, grown and shared.<\/p>\n 6. Why did you choose to work at the University of Kent?<\/strong><\/p>\n To be able to support future ideas that could make a real difference.<\/p>\n 7. What has been a personal highlight for your achievements in your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n Being asked to be Director of Kent Cricket by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n 8. Where is the most interesting place you have been?<\/strong><\/p>\n Country Dubai.<\/p>\n 9. What are your proudest achievements outside of your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n Creating a strong family home base.<\/p>\n 10. What has been your greatest challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n Running a business at 21 years of age through a recession, whilst raising a family.<\/p>\n 11. What do you like most about Canterbury?<\/strong><\/p>\n The atmosphere. It has a traditional respectful beauty inside and out.<\/p>\n 12.
