This will enable the construction <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diamond.ac.uk\/Diamond-II\/New-Beamline-Proposals\/first-proposals.htmlhttps:\/\/www.diamond.ac.uk\/Diamond-II\/New-Beamline-Proposals\/first-proposals.html\">five new beamlines<\/a>, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diamond.ac.uk\/Diamond-II\/New-Beamline-Proposals\/first-proposals\/New-Beamline-for-X-ray-Raman-Scattering-and-pink-beam-XES--BERRIES-.html\">Beamline for X-ray Raman Scattering and pink-beam XES (BERRIES)<\/a> whose champion is <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/pqm\/\">Physics of Quantum Materials<\/a> research group member and the Head of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physics-astronomy\">Physics and Astronomy<\/a> at Kent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/physics-astronomy\/people\/377\/ramos-silvia\">Silvia Ramos<\/a>. Silvia chairs the 13-strong User Working group that proposed this beamline and that will oversee the delivery of this \u00a315M project over the next decade. BERRIES is expected to make a big impact on both academia and industry, in several scientific areas important to the UK\u2019s research priorities, such as chemistry and catalysis, energy materials and nuclear waste management, among others.
