{"id":3109,"date":"2021-08-03T10:53:52","date_gmt":"2021-08-03T09:53:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/spskent\/?p=3109"},"modified":"2021-08-03T10:53:52","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T09:53:52","slug":"help-train-our-budding-forensic-science-students-of-the-future-donation-request","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/spskent\/2021\/08\/03\/help-train-our-budding-forensic-science-students-of-the-future-donation-request\/","title":{"rendered":"Help train our budding Forensic Science students of the future- Donation request"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Forensic Science team at the University of Kent is looking to add to the fantastic facilities available to our students, and we need your help.\u00a0 As part of our continued growth and dedication to providing students with real-world experience, we are looking for two old, unused and unwanted cars which we can use to create a traffic accident scene for the students to decipher, collect finger prints, and discover other crime data from.<\/p>\n<p>Our Forensic Science students already have access to the Crime Scene House &#8211; which provides crime scene simulations for scenarios such as burglary, domestic assault and suspicious death &#8211; but these cars will provide our students with further invaluable practical experience, preparing them for future careers in the field.<\/p>\n<p>The cars do not need to be road worthy as they will be a static feature in the crime scene, but must be whole, and have the appearance of a reasonable car.<\/p>\n<p>In thanks of your donation we are happy for the car to hold a plaque with your name on it. You can follow your cars journey from its arrival at the campus as it is turned into a scene of a crime and when it is first used by our new and current forensic sciences students, via a short video clip. This clip will be recorded and hosted on the departments YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a used car and would be willing to donate it to the department to help train our budding Forensic Science students of the future, please contact us at <a href=\"mailto:Natsmarketing@kent.ac.uk\">Natsmarketing@kent.ac.uk<\/a>.
