Applications for the <\/span>STEM for Britain 2021<\/span><\/a> poster competition are now open.<\/span><\/p>\n

STEM for Britain is an annual poster competition which gives early-career research scientists, engineers and mathematicians the opportunity to engage with MPs and Peers, and boost the profile of their research. This prestigious annual event is a unique chance for those in the STEM sector to promote their research in Westminster, putting cutting edge STEM ideas at the heart of Government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Postgraduate Taught Students\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

There are some excellent online resources available from the <\/span>Careers and Employability Service<\/span><\/a> to help you with planning your next steps and acting on those plans.<\/span> <\/span>You may be considering a research degree opportunity, going into industry or doing something totally unrelated to your subjects of student thus far.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Remember the <\/span>University of Kent Graduate School<\/span><\/a> provision, some of it may seem generic but can prove very useful. The skills training programme information can be found<\/span> here<\/span><\/a>, news and events <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>There is specific information and support available for both<\/span> <\/span>research<\/span><\/a> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>taught<\/span><\/a> <\/span>students.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are thinking about entering the graduate labour market after your taught course, spend some time considering how you will sell it to potential employers. What additional skills have your developed as a result of study at this level? How will you apply them in their workplace<\/span><\/p>\n

Postgraduate Research Students\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Students of <\/span>Physics and Chemistry<\/span> can also access the<\/span> <\/span>GRADnet<\/span><\/a> <\/span>resources for PhDs and PDRAs. The training is excellent and another way for you to network with researchers from other universities and further develop your skills.<\/span><\/p>\n
