The Ogden Trust, along with Brightside, are launching a brand new 10 week mentoring scheme to help Physics students adapt to life at university. <\/p>\n
The transition to university brings new challenges and, with the schools currently closed, this year has particular difficulties. This new mentoring scheme from the Ogden Trust<\/a> in partnership with Brightside<\/a> is designed to help this move easier for Year 13 students planning to study physics at university this Autumn.<\/p>\n The scheme will provide online mentoring for up to 10 weeks \u2013 likely from the end of May until late July – and will pair school students with university physics undergraduates (where possible at your first choice universities) to offer advice on settling into university, study skills, and keeping up your physics knowledge ready for the new term.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Applications are now open for Year 13 students (final year of school and studying physics at university this autumn), who would like to be assigned a mentor.<\/a><\/p>\n The deadline to register has now been updated to 12:00pm\u00a0on Thursday 21 May 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n All data will be gathered, processed and stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018). Personal data will be shared with our mentoring platform partner Brightside, and only used for the purposes of contacting you in relation to this programme. If you have any questions about our data protection policies or our use of your data, please contact\u00a0office@ogdentrust.com<\/a><\/p>\n You can find out more about the platform that will be use here<\/a>, but mentees will receive training (roughly two hours, online) on how to use it before the mentoring programme begins.<\/p>\n Not everyone is guaranteed a mentor.
