Responsibilities and Requirements
In synthetic chemistry you will work as part of a team to plan routes to, synthesise, purify and characterise biologically relevant compounds using a range of techniques and equipment. During the placement you will learn about how to design compounds with herbicidal activity and interpret the data from biological assays as well as having plenty of opportunity to communicate your work with your team. Requires good knowledge of organic chemistry, practical skills and the ability to work in and interact with a team. Ideal for those with a passion for applying chemistry to the life sciences.
Payments and Terms
The salary is £ 18,500 per annum, including a paid holiday entitlement. Assistance in finding suitable accommodation is available. Membership of the recreation club allows access to a range of on-site sports facilities including a fully fitted gym, tennis courts, all-weather pitch and sports fields along with trips to shows and events.
