National Careers Week

#NCW2022

This week marks National Careers Week. To start the week we are highlighting the amazing career services provided at the University of Kent.

The University of Kent has a dedicated careers and employability service which aids all students with aspects such as job hunting, career research and planning, how to write applications and student volunteering. Appointments can be made for one-to-one help via the Target Connect system.

To recognise students dedication to career progression, we have the Employability Points Scheme which rewards students for their active engagement with co-curricular activities with experiences of work. For each activity, students can log their points, and at the end of the year they can ‘cash in’ these points for certain rewards and experiences.

Within the Division of Natural Sciences, we have an employability team who can help with the nitty gritty details of working towards a science related career and where your degree can take you! They hold workshops and talks throughout the year, including dedicated sessions on how to find a placement in industry and how to make the most of your time there.

Throughout the National Careers week, we will be highlighting some of Alumni students and their journey through Kent and beyond.

Follow our Chemistry and Forensic Science Twitter or Physics, Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics Twitter page to hear more about our amazing alumni.
