We've set the challenge for SPS applicants to keep your brains busy over the break and think about what you could be learning about at the University of Kent. If you enter, you'll have the chance to win a £50 Waterstones voucher.

1.Watch the trailer for the ‘Plastics Unwrapped’ project. What properties can you think of for current plastics, that would need to be retained by new biodegradable plastics?

2.Take a look at the Medicine Sheet below.

Can you identify any of the functional groups in the experimental antiviral remdesivir (shown). You will not know all of these, but you will by the end of a chemistry degree at Kent! 

3. Look at the Energy Sheet below. For the reaction of a fuel cell, can you identify which reaction is an oxidation and which is a reduction? What is the only waste product of the fuel cell reaction?
